“Our family moved to Cranbrook from Ontario two years ago.When choosing a school for them, one of the most important things we considered was that the school would reflect and be an extension of the way we raise our four children. Kootenay Christian Academy is not only a school that makes Christ the center of their way of being, in teaching and learning, but also in encouraging our kids to put their faith into practice in their everyday lives. While meeting and even exceeding the standards set for schools, we know our kids are getting an excellent education. We are thankful for the opportunities provided at KCA to further learn and grow not only in academia but also in sports and the arts in the form of music, monthly Chapel, and theatre. Looking back on the past two years we see how each one of our children, being uniquely different, have blended seamlessly into school life at KCA. “My husband and I went through months of seeing my healthy happy son decline mentally, physically, and academically due to his school dynamics. Following dead end discussions with the teacher and principal, our pediatrician advised us the only option was to make a change.
Since we were not (and still are not) a religious family, we felt that we would not be accepted into either of the private schools in Cranbrook. We were at a loss. An acquaintance put us in touch with KCA and encouraged us to see what they were all about. My husband and I knew immediately this was a good fit for us. We were accepted with open arms into not just a school, but a community that shares the same values as our family.
