April 26th Update

Happy Sunny Sunday afternoon everyone!

Heading into week 4 of At Home learning! Thank you for all the fun and creative obstacle course pictures and videos from last week! It was sooo good to see our students’ faces! We put all the entries into a draw and the winner of the Pizza Hut Pizza is…………….
The Webbs!!!!! Well done, Addison and Maylee!

This week we are going to celebrate heroes! – All types of heroes – superheroes and real life heroes. We are asking students to dress up as their favourite hero – real or imaginary 🙂 and parents post a pic on the KCA Facebook Page. If you don’t have Facebook – email to Mrs. Zurrin

Fun Family Friday Challenge #2 – Recognize a local hero
There are so many local people who are superheroes during this pandemic time – health workers, grocery store workers, teachers, truck drivers, delivery folks. Choose one (or many) and let them know you appreciate them! Put a heart up in your window, draw a thank you in chalk on your sidewalk, email your teacher a thank you, sing a song to thank the doctors, etc. Be creative! Send in your acts of appreciation to Mrs. Zurrin. Let’s show Cranbrook how much KCA appreciates our local heroes!

Book Fair – see the attached flyer. Beautiful Moments Book store is holding an online book fair for KCA. You may order from them and 10% of sales this week will go towards new books for KCA! Thank you, Candace and Beautiful Moments Book Store!!

Top Crop Flower Pick up – Tuesday, May 5th – Watch for more info to come.

Kootenay Fun 5 – Virtual Race starts THIS Friday! For the month of May, run/walk your 5k of choice and send in a picture of your tracker or simply a pic of you on the trail! Post pics to the Kootenay Fun 5 Facebook Page #unstoppable. Let’s fill Facebook with KCA families being active together! Swag bag pick up will be the first week in June. Watch for more info.

Please let us know how your family is doing. I have heard wonderful, encouraging reports of families getting into a “new” routine. But I also know there are families who are struggling and not finding a new routine. PLEASE let us know, as we are here to help and not all learning at home will look alike!

April 13th Update

April 13th Update

Good morning, KCA families!

Well – we have one week of at home learning under our belts and we are about to head into our second week!
Next week I am going to send out a Fun Friday “challenge”.
Keep teachers posted on how things are going at home. Let us know if technology is working, work loads are manageable and students are feeling connected.(or not) I remind everyone of my two pandemic mottos – “DO what you can, and CAN what you can’t” and “Be Gentle with yourself and Generous to others”. We will all settle into a routine and it will look different for different families. Please reach out and let us know if we can help in ANY way.

The school office is now closed as we are working from home now. But I am always checking my email and Laura will be checking the phone messages often.

Attached is this week’s KCA Daily Devotional. I hope you are able to enjoy these moments as a family. Thank you for the pics and videos of students worshipping last week – warmed my heart. Keep them coming! Post on this page, for everyone to see!

Praying for an amazing week – looks like the warmer weather may be on its way.
