Fundraising Contractor

Kootenay Christian Academy (KCA) has a job opening for a Fundraising Contractor. The duties of this position will include:

• soliciting funds for the construction of a new school building
• completing and submitting grant applications on behalf of KCA
• coordinating fundraising activities with the existing KCA Development Committee

KCA helping to build a well for an African Christian school

Missionaries, Charles and Petra Wirrell, will be building wells in Sierra Leone. The Students of KCA are going to partner with this couple to build a well at a Christian school in Africa. KCA students will continue to support our sponsored children, Shabani and Heidy, in addition to building a well. Let's partner together to teach our children to touch the lives of others in meaningful ways!

Non-marking indoor shoes

Please be sure your children have non-marking indoor shoes. We are already seeing black marks on the freshly waxed gym floor. Even small amounts of dirt and grit affect the performance of the floor. Please help us keep it clean. If you are in the school and need to access the grade 4/5 or 1/2 classrooms or library, please go around outside and enter the building through the back door (after you sign in) or walk around the church foyer. Thank you.

Litterless Snacks

We have an unusually high number of wasps and bees in our playground that particularly love the garbage left behind by your children at recess and lunch (even when it's in the garbage can). We are asking that you send "litterless snacks" with your children, something in a container or wrapper that can be taken out before going outside. This will hopefully help reduce the number of wasps and stings. We had 5 children stung in the first 2 days alone! And we have 1 child in kindergarten who is VERY allergic to wasp stings. So, help us keep our playground clean and safe for your children by SENDING SNACKS THAT CAN BE UNWRAPPED INSIDE THE BUILDING BEFORE GOING OUT TO PLAY. Thank you!
